An outstanding Musigny Grand Cru from Domaine Joseph Drouhin RP 97
The 2005 Musigny offers a compellingly complex nose of black raspberry, plum, cranberry, maraschino, truffle, flowers, raw meat, peat, and wet stone. Fabulously mouth-coating, with a plush, creamy texture, its tannins entirely sublimated, this finishes with soaring lift and uncanny clarity and refinement of flavor, incorporating a vivid floral dimension.
100% Pinot Noir.
1.675 acres of 33 year old vines. The terroir is on a mild incline, with a due east exposure. The brown soil is chalky, strewn with some pebbles and not too clayey. Annual production is 2000 cases.
